Sedation Services & Qualifications

We know surgery can be intimidating and maybe even a little scary! Fortunately, the surgeons in our practice can provide safe sedation for our patients which allows you to comfortably relax during your procedure and wake up ready to go home.

What kind of sedation do you provide?

We provide all types of anesthesia including local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia.

When we perform IV sedation/general anesthesia medication is administered intravenously. This means that the dosage is controlled and can be adjusted in real time throughout the surgery. Generally, patients under IV sedation will remember very little- if any- of their procedure and instead will enjoy a “twilight” sleep state. Patients’ vitals are monitored constantly throughout IV sedation so that our team can ensure a safe experience.

What are your qualifications to administer anesthesia?

Our Oral Surgeons are specialists that, along with their standard dental degree, have advanced medical education and training in hospital environments and with anesthesia. This allows them to treat diseases and conditions that affect the entire maxillofacial region and go beyond the scope of general dentistry. During residency training, oral surgeons undergo hands-on education in every part of surgery including extensive anesthesia training. This ultimately allows them to receive certification to provide safe and effective anesthesia.
Our practice exclusively uses FDA-approved protocols and medication while providing anesthetic services and our patients are constantly monitored by our surgical team.
