Dr. Simon Young

DDS, MD, PhD

Dr. Simon Young  grew up in Toronto, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1999 from the University of Toronto, and went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He graduated in 2003. He was then accepted into an integrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/MD/PhD program at Rice University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He completed his PhD in Bioengineering at Rice University in 2008, and then obtained his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2011.

Specialty Training

Dr. Young completed a General Surgery internship, along with extensive anesthesia training and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency training. He is also an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, and a certified Provider of Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.

Get to know

Dr. Young enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons and looks forward to maintaining strong ties to a city that has given him so much, both professionally and personally over the last 15 years. He has also published extensively on novel bone regeneration strategies and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard University investigating cutting-edge therapies for oral cancer.
