DDS, MD, PhD
Dr. Simon Young grew up in Toronto, Canada. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 1999 and went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, graduating in 2003. He was then accepted into an integrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/MD/PhD program through Rice University and the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr. Young completed his PhD in Bioengineering at Rice University in 2008 and later earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2011.
Specialty Training
Dr. Young completed a General Surgery internship, along with extensive anesthesia training and residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and a certified provider of Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.

Dr. Young enjoys spending time with his wife and two young sons and values maintaining strong ties to a city that has given him so much both professionally and personally over the years. He has also published extensively on novel bone regeneration strategies and completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Harvard University, where he investigated cutting-edge therapies for oral cancer.
